Primary Job Function:  The function of this job is to operate an assigned set of spinning frames at expected efficiency in a safe manner.

 

Main Job Duties: 

 

  • Be prepared at shift change to promptly assume job responsibilities. Communicate with off going operator about existing problems.      

  • Operate assigned spinning frames in a way to insure maximum quality and efficiency. Cycle frames timely, service lights, change wax, and replenish tubes, creel cans when necessary or asked by Supervisor.

  • Keep rows of cans aligned.

  • Discard minimal waste in correct cubes at end of frames.

  • Pull thread waste at designate times throughout shift.

  •  Keep all body parts other than those used i.e. hands/arms to perform job duties at a minimum of 24 inches (2 feet) away from draft zone and drum shafts.

  •  All Doors on frames and piercers/doffers must be closed.

  • All plastic covers must be on frames. 

                                                                                            

     

    Other Job Duties:

     

  • Report accidents to supervisor immediately.

  • Wear hearing protection in required areas.

  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for specific work tasks.

  • Perform miscellaneous work tasks as directed by supervisor.

  • Follow safe work practices, policies, and procedures.

  • Report unsafe work conditions.

  • Wear dust mask at all times.
